I want to tell you how I have painted this piece, standing in the dunes at the Petoskey State Park. It was a windy day, and not a sunny one. Maybe a small amount of blue sky made itself known from time to time, but then a rolling sky began and the wind picked up. It was obvious it might rain. So I finished quickly and packed up. My sister was painting with me and my brother in law was enjoying the beach. We could tell that sky was going by way of M119 and would perhaps start to rain on the way up the coast. We made it into the car and were on our way. Weather is a special feature of paintings.
