One day, I decided I must get to the Porcupine Mountain State Park, and paint. It was nearly a five hour drive from my cottage at Burt Lake , so I got up early and arrived about noon. I drove around looking at various sites, but loved a little drive out spot along the road. My view of Lake Superior, with the wonderful breezes of that fabulous, huge fresh lake. I was high on a bluff. I then realized a family was sitting on the beach soaking up the sun. I hiked to the Lake in the Clouds. took photos at the rivers and ruins and waterfalls. But this scene was my peaceful spot. and then, I drove the five hours back south to my cottage.
Currently this piece is at the National Parks exhibit at the River Raisin National Battlefield Park Education Center, 333 N. Dixie Hwy. Monroe, MI 48162
